As another indication of our global growth, we have undertaken extensive expansion and modernization efforts at our USA production site in Franklin Park near Chicago in recent months. As a result, our subsidiary now shines in the American market with increased production capacities and enhanced performance around our products "made in USA".
One of the key steps was the modernization of our manufacturing facility. The 2,500 square meters production area was expanded by adding more winding and soldering workstations. Additionally, an automated testing system was installed, which, through a specially developed and optimized automation, makes the final product testing and quality assurance even more efficient.
Furthermore, we installed a new entrance gate for loading and unloading trucks and created an additional exit – a real asset for the logistical processes.
In the former loading area, more space was created, and two new drying ovens were installed, leading to a quadrupling of our drying capacity for vacuum impregnated winding products. To conclude our construction project, we installed a state-of-the-art vacuum impregnation system, which offers our US team significantly more sophisticated impregnation capabilities and further enhances the quality of the impregnation process through technological advancement. In this way, with our own BLOCKImpEX impregnation process, we have now implemented a standardized impregnation process at all our production sites worldwide.
In addition to more efficient processes and resource-efficient energy management, the switch to the use of the impregnating resin also contributes to our sustainability goals. Responsible and careful use of chemicals in our manufacturing processes with regard to environmental compatibility has always been our guiding principle. In the future, we will exclusively use emission-free resin for the impregnation of our products.
Our corporate management expressed great satisfaction upon reviewing the final stages of the expansion activities. Together with BLOCK USA General Manager Wolfgang Niedrist and his team, we look forward to being able to supply our US customers with high-quality products "made in USA" even more flexibly and quickly in the future.
