Analysis and optimization of the loss distribution for a two-stage AC/DC power supply
This paper analyzes and optimizes a two-stage bidirectional AC/DC power supply with a silicon carbide-based active front end and a dual active bridge DC/DC converter. It is designed to supply 600 V DC applications from low voltage AC grids with a power up to 6 kW. The paper includes the topology and design considerations, as well as an in-depth loss distribution analysis based on a validated loss model.
Switched-mode power supplies: Understanding and applying mean-time-between-failures (MTBF) correctly
This ZVEI guide, developed with our collaboration, explains the derivation and implementation of MTBF figures as well as the differences between various MTBF protocols. When used correctly, MTBF calculations are a valuable tool, helping us develop very reliable power supplies. At the same time, users can estimate the expected lifespan of their systems and create necessary maintenance or replacement schedules.
